Tuesday July 5th saw us packing up our tents at Middle Lagoon. The trip back to Broome was uneventful although the road was somewhat busier than our trip in. We arrived back at Broome Gateway caravan park and restarted our fridges etc. The girls made a beeline to the laundry to begin the task of removing red dust. I think they had every machine working overtime.
The day was spent primarily doing laundry, cleaning the caravan, and getting in touch with family. Nice to have a shower in the caravan and not have to walk across the dirt afterwards. Looked a bit ghoulish with the red mud splattered everywhere in the shower though!
Wednesday we did some more computer catch up and organizing in the morning before heading into Broome. Sandra had a couple of things she wanted to do and pick up. We got a few errands out of the way before enjoying lunch again at Shady Lane cafe. I had the burger this time and it is definitely a 5 Star one. Huge and homemade with nice hot chips! My mates at Viatek would have loved this one!
After lunch we stocked up with groceries, booze, and diesel for the next leg of our journey. Also stopped at the car wash to get a few layers of red dust off of the Jeep. Met up with Sean who's family we had met at Home Valley and numerous other campgrounds at the car wash by coincidence. We returned to the campground for a relaxing evening for our last day in Broome. Didn't do any local sightseeing this time as we thought we had seen most of the highlights during our previous visit. Maybe on our next visit we will revisit some of the local highlights. We would like to see James Price Point again. The tents are being packed away for at least the next few stops along our way.
