Tuesday morning saw us hit the rode towards Broken Hill and our trip North to Queensland. We drove through the Horrocks Pass again this time with our caravans. Lovely drive but fairly good pull with the caravan. From Wilmington we headed towards Orroroo. We stopped at a giant gum tree there that was some 500 years old. The girls also got some pictures of some metal kangaroo statues with Easter Hats on them. Orroroo is a lovely little town. This is the second time we have passed through and commented on it but not stopped. Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm as it looks like an interesting stopover.
Continued on to Peterborough where we topped up with Diesel and had morning tea at the rest stop just out of town we had stayed at almost one year ago. Did some telephone and Internet work as hadn't had service for a few days. We had a good telephone chat with Justine. We then carried on to Yunta where we had lunch at the rest stop.
Stopped at a free camp just out of Olary for the night. Lots of flies and we were parked between the train tracks and the highway. Saw the Ghan go through during the evening. Not the quietest night although Sandra & I slept not too badly. I ventured out the next morning to sit in the sun with my cup of coffee. Made it all of two steps before retreating quickly to the caravan because of the flies.
