March 9 to 15- Home Break

Well we have been stuck at home for a week getting some technical issues sorted out. Numerous trips to 7th Street Caravans, Lakeside Appliances, and Country Gas Fridges to resolve a number of heating and cooling issues. Hopefully all is resolved and good to go for an extended time.
Had some unbelievable incidents over the last few weeks. While we were away our oldest daughter, Justine decided to keep going in a line of stopped traffic at a construction site (with our car). Quite a bit of damage, but thankfully no injuries to all involved. Car is in at repairers being restored by insurance company. So much for our over 50 and No Claims Bonus.
As you may know we are renting our house to our two daughters and 2 other girls. Well, the first night we were home for repairs we are sitting in the dining room having dinner and we hear a bang. We had a  bit of a look around and Sandra finds Katie who is just moving her stuff in has accidentally pushed our garbage bin through our third garage door with her car. Doesn't know what happened but it just lurched forward as she tried to back up. She was distraught and said she understood if we didn't want her to move in. Well as Tony Abbott says " Shit Happens" so we had a good laugh and went on with our lives with a promise of a full repair.
Two nights before we leave Sandra is walking out to our Caravan where we were living, because no bedrooms are available for us in our own home, and hears a bang. Turns around and finds Stephanie's boyfriend, Tim plowed into the same garage door. Popped his clutch as he went to back out and rolled into the door. We all go out to see the damage and Katie pipes up at least I only have to pay for half of a garage door now. Needless to say all the cars with a manual transmission are parking on the street as opposed to our driveway now! We hope that we still have something to come home to at the end of or journey.
We are off on the Wednesday March 16th for our second attempt at Stage 1.

  1. Hey Beweller,

Sounds like more is happening at home (sorry, the rented property)....

Glad to hear that Justine is ok - cars can be fixed.

Not good news about the problems with the caravan? you'd think that spending $xxx would get you a decent bit of gear?

Anyway, stay safe, say hello from the Dora's and just remember - it's not too late (or too early) to come back.

    Best wishes,

    Oogway
